Pool Prep for Cold Weather
Cooler temperatures have arrived and if you don’t have a heater in your pool it is unlikely you will be swimming during the cooler months. Some may think that as long as you are not using your pool, it doesn’t get dirty but that is not the case. Proper maintenance is just as important during cooler weather as it is when you are swimming every day. Here are some useful tips to keep your pool in tip-top shape during the winter.
Cover the Pool
It is a good idea to cover your pool while it is not in use. This will eliminate the debris from trees, rain, and dust from collecting in your pool tile. Remember to regularly remove the cover to prevent algae from growing inside and to ensure your pool is running properly.
Maintain Chemical Balance
Keeping your pool chemicals balanced is key to prevent algae and mold growth from occurring. Even though you do not plan on swimming for a while that doesn’t mean bacteria cannot take over your pool.
Keep Your Filtration System Running
Running your filter for a few hours a day will keep your pool clean and maintained for the coming season. You will save a lot of time and money if you practice this simple rule.
