The main purpose of pipelining is to coat, or “line” the interior of your pipes to prevent leaks, to prevent the corrosion of the pipes, and to increase the flow rate of water. It is essentially installing a pipe inside a pipe if you want to think of it that way.

A plumber will need to inspect your pipes and assess the damage to them. This will be done via a sewer video inspection camera in one of the drains. After an inspection of your pipes, likely they will be cleared through a process called hydro jetting so there is a clean surface to work with.

Once your pipes are cleaned, and any roots are cleared, the pipelining is done. A certified pipelining professional will install the lining, fill it with air, and have the outside lined with epoxy. Once the epoxy is cured, there will be a seamless pipe left behind free of leaks or holes. These new lined pipes will work even better than your old pipes. If this is an option for your home, it is a good idea to do it. It takes less time, it is more efficient, and there is less disruption if any to your home.
