Money Saving Plumbing Tips

Plumbing Tips

Consumers are constantly seeking new ways to stretch their hard earned dollars, and why shouldn’t they? After all most of our time is spent making them right?

Numerous methods such as cutting coupons, using a more gas efficient automobile and even dining out less seem obvious when looking to spend wisely; however, water usage and plumbing tips rarely come to mind, when in fact if properly maintained saves consumers significantly in the long run. In a recent article on phcnews.com, the Department of Energy shared some insights on how they are aiding in the relief efforts for Hurricane Sandy and saving homeowners money.

“The Department of Energy reports that residential water heating is the second largest use of energy in homes outside of space heating. Power-Pipe drain water heat recovery systems reduce residential water heating by 25 to 40 percent and are a proven, practical, energy-saving technology, with no moving parts, which simply preheat incoming cold, fresh water, with outgoing warm drain water. This will provide a significant long term savings for many home owners rebuilding their homes in the affected area,” noted Rod Buchalter, residential sales manager for RenewABILITY Energy.
